Loose leaf organic black tea «Golden Yunnan».
For this high-quality organic black tea, the buds and young leaves of the tea plant are picked by hand: the tea bears the «first grade» quality seal.
The «Golden Yunnan» black tea is characterized by its smooth, slightly sweet taste. Its slightly smoky note is balanced by its long lingering chocolate notes.
South China's Yunnan Province
Like other black teas, the Golden Yunnan black tea is withered after the harvest. This withering lasts 12 hours, which means that the leaves lose about a third of their water content. After that, the tea buds and leaves are oxidized for another 14 hours. In contrast to other types of tea, this black tea is not fixed in the steam bath, so that the tea can ferment even further. Finally the tea leaves are shaped and then dried.
The packaging consists of a cardboard tube (recycled cardboard) with an organic bamboo lid. The tea itself is also packed airtight in a bag made of cardboard and aluminum.
The packaging is completely plastic-free.
Teas of Eden is a young vegan company from Eastern Switzerland. Their teas are grown under strict, organic guidelines, which are guaranteed throughout the manufacturing process.
Their teas are certified by the Rainforest Alliance and UTZ. These organizations ensure that local biodiversity is preserved and that the growers have good living conditions. Care is also taken to ensure that the work is done in a way that conserves resources (water & energy) and that the children receive an educational offer.
